What to Do in a fysiotherapeutisch Emergency

Follow these steps — they can save a life.

1

Call 911 (or Your Local Emergency Number) Immediately

Don't drive yourself to the hospital. Paramedics can start treatment en route and alert the ER team.

2

Stay Calm and Rest

Sit or lie down. Loosen tight clothing. Try to stay as still and relaxed as possible while waiting for help.

3

Take Nitroglycerin If Prescribed

If you have been prescribed nitroglycerin for angina, take it as directed. Do not take anyone else's medication.

4

If Unresponsive, Start CPR

If the person is not breathing and has no pulse, begin hands‑only CPR: push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives.

5

Notify Fysiocentrum Vesta's Emergency Line

If you're an existing patient, call 050-123 4567 after you've called 911. We'll alert the on‑call fysiotherapeut and prepare for your arrival.

Dr. Maria Vesta on Emergencies

“Time is gezondheid muscle. In a fysiotherapeutisch emergency, minutes can mean the difference between a full recovery and permanent damage. Our team trains for this every day. When you call, you're not alone — you're connected to a network of specialists ready to act.”

Emergency Questions

What to know before an emergency happens.

When should I call the emergency line vs. 911?
Always call 911 first if you're experiencing severe symptoms. Our emergency line is a secondary resource for existing patients to alert our on‑call fysiotherapeut and facilitate direct admission. If you're unsure, call 911 — err on the side of caution.
What information should I have ready when I call?
Try to know: your location, the symptoms you're experiencing, your age, any known gezondheid conditions, and a list of your current medications. Even partial information is better than none.
Can I use the emergency line for non‑urgent questions?
Please keep the emergency line clear for true emergencies. For non‑urgent inquiries, use the contact form below or call our main clinic line during business hours at +1 (212) 555-0123.
What happens after I arrive at the ER?
You'll be triaged immediately. An ECG will be performed within 10 minutes of arrival. Depending on the findings, you may go to the fysiotherapeutisch catheterization lab, receive clot‑busting medication, or be admitted for observation. Our team will keep you and your family informed.
Do you accept walk‑in emergencies?
Onze Praktijk is not an emergency room. For life‑threatening emergencies, always call 911 or go to the nearest hospital ER. However, we do accept same‑day urgent visits for stable but concerning symptoms — please call ahead so we can prepare.
